Could my browser be outdated?
The Lippu.fi online service works with all common web browsers. We recommend that you use the newest browser versions.

Our recommended browsers:
• Firefox
• Google Chrome
• Safari
• Edge and Internet Explorer (version 11 or newer)
• Opera

As the user, you are responsible for the security of your computer/mobile device by ensuring that the browser is updated in accordance with the browser provider’s recommendations.

Browser requirements
The Lippu.fi online service is partially protected with an HTTPS connection. It encrypts the data transfer, preventing external parties from seeing your confidential information. In the lippu.fi online service, the newest browsers automatically use TLS encryption, which implements the HTTPS protection. All the services require that your browser accepts cookies and JavaScript.

Update your operating system and browser
Updating is important for security reasons. You can see the version number of your browser with the command line Help - About... The browser can be updated through the browser provider’s website.
Updating or installing the newest browser versions on an old computer may not be possible. You should find out whether your old computer is compatible with the newest browser versions (e.g. from the manufacturer) before attempting to update.

By protecting your computer, you protect yourself
In order to browse the internet safely, it is recommended that you:

• Always keep the computer and its software and their add-ons updated
• Acquire reliable antivirus software
• Keep the firewall of your computer updated
• Use various protection mechanisms, such as the NoScript add-on for Firefox
• Remove unnecessary browser add-ons
• Utilise a so-called two-browser tactic, where you use one browser for online services and another browser for casual browsing. This is recommended in a situation where an online service requires the use of Java or Adobe Flash, for example.
