Is man flu a myth or a fact? Johansson and Räinä search for answers in a show combining stand-up comedy and theatre.
Man flu is a terrible illness. It comes with plenty of drama, tragedy and comedy – the whole spectrum of life. There are several “what?” questions, even more “what the hell?” questions, and most of all, “how did it come to this?” questions.
Is man flu a myth or a fact? What goes through the mind of a middle-aged man when he realises that instead of being at Motonet, he is standing in the baby food aisle of a hypermarket? What happens when control is lost and life starts slipping out of your hands? How do you make sense of your identity when sometimes even washing your underwear feels like an insurmountable task?
Ilari Johansson and Mika Räinä blend stand-up comedy and theatre to explore the male “medical history” and the true causes of man flu with warmth, humour and understanding for all kinds of people. Man Flu challenges the audience to decide how many lines will appear on the test strip. The performance is directed by Kalle Lamberg and is an original production by Linnateatteri.
Programme subject to change.
