Inmo Yang, winner of the 2022 Sibelius Violin Competition, will perform Prokofiev’s sparkling Second Violin Concerto. Italian-Turkish Nil Venditti serves as artistic director of the Royal Northern Orchestra, which performs at Newscastle, and has made successful guest appearances in Finland. Also known as a virtuoso pianist, Fazıl Say composed his Chamber Symphony in 2015, a work filled with Turkish rhythms, nostalgia for old Istanbul, and a modern longing for romance. Camille Pepin’s (b. 1990) Avant les clartes de l’aurore (“Before the Brightness of Dawn”), paints scenes of nature that blend Pushkin’s poetry with modern impressionism.
