Imatran Urheilijat is hosting a race of the Scandinavian Cup cross-country skiing series for the first time. Participants in this competition—which sits just below the World Cup level—typically come from Finland, Norway, Sweden, the Baltic states, and Central Europe, with competitors from Great Britain and the USA often taking part as well. The Cup is open to all and serves as a stepping stone to World Cup events. The competition will take place from March 5 to 7, 2027. The schedule features a 20 km classic-style mass start on Friday, a classic sprint on Saturday (March 6), and a 10 km freestyle race on Sunday (March 7). Neither ticket prices nor freezing temperatures will stand in the way of enjoying the event this spring; a special €25 weekend ticket includes an Imatran Urheilijat fan scarf and a race-day sausage.
