Sanskriti Suomi presents an evening dedicated to the rich rhythmic traditions of Indian classical music.
The concert explores several classical percussion traditions of India, bringing together Arun Venkitaraman on the violin, Arvind Shankar on the mridangam, Keeran Sivam on the ghatam, Pujenthan Siva on the khanjira and Suvrat Apte on the tabla. At the heart of the evening are finely shaped melodic lines, intricate rhythmic cycles and the dialogue between the musicians.
Listeners are invited to experience the acoustic virtuosity, improvisation and expressive beauty of Indian classical music in a concert shaped by precision and live musical exchange.
