Irina’s most beloved hits performed acoustically!
Irina will release the EP Acoustic Evening on Friday 20 March and will embark on an autumn tour of the same name inspired by the release. She will perform at Tampere Hall on Wednesday 23 September 2026.
Irina, who rose to the forefront of Finnish artists with her debut album in 2004, has released nine studio albums during her more than two-decade-long career. These include Vahva, which won two Emma Awards, as well as the platinum-selling albums Älä riko kaavaa and Liiba laaba.
On the tour, Irina will take the stage with accordion artist Niko Kumpuvaara and multi-instrumentalist Joakim “Jusu” Berghäll. The idea for Acoustic Evening came from Irina’s wish to look at familiar songs from a new perspective. The tour repertoire focuses on hit songs but also includes some rarely performed gems.
“The idea actually came about by chance. I already knew Niko and knew he could work his magic with the accordion. I told him I had been playing with the idea of creating different kinds of arrangements for my songs, and from there the idea started to grow,” Irina explains.
At Kumpuvaara’s suggestion, Joakim Berghäll, known as a versatile multi-instrumentalist, was also invited to join. “I gave Niko and Jusu a list of songs and asked them to choose the ones that sparked their arranging instincts. They had their own favorites, and together we arrived at the final selection,” Irina says.
The stripped-down instrumentation brings the lyrics and interpretation to the forefront. “The new versions bring out the lyrics in a different way. For example, Haluun olla yksin feels completely different in this version. The original perhaps has more anger — when the approach becomes more minimal, the angle changes and the meanings deepen. It enriches my own experience of these songs as well,” Irina describes.
“I’m looking forward to new kinds of encounters with the audience – perhaps there will also be listeners who haven’t attended my concerts before. Of course, I hope to see many familiar faces too. The atmosphere is expectant, hopeful and a little nervous. This will only be done once,” Irina says.
Program subject to change.
