Ǩeârnn – Girdnu -saamelaisen tanssin ilta
Tapahtuma keskittyy tanssin eri muotoihin saamelaisessa kulttuurissa. Ohjelmassa esiintyy muun muassa kolttasaamelainen katrilliryhmä ja nähdään Guovtteoaivvat-teos, jossa tanssivat Gáddjá Haarla Pieski ja Biret Haarla Pieski. Musiikista vastaa Uula Jouste.
Juontajina ovat Marko Jouste ja Petri Hoppu.
Ilta on samalla myös julkistustilaisuus uudelle saamelaisen tanssin tutkimushankkeelle: Sámi Dance and Dance Music: Embodied, Affective and Transcultural Agency.

An Evening of Sámi Dance brings together diverse forms of Sámi dance and dance music, inviting audiences to experience the rhythms, traditions, and contemporary expressions of Sámi culture. The programme features a Skolt Saami quadrille group, alongside Guovtteoaivvat, a captivating dance work performed by Gáddjá Haarla Pieski and Biret Haarla Pieski, with music by Uula Jouste.
The evening is hosted by Marko Jouste and Petri Hoppu.
The evening also marks the launch of a new research project exploring Sámi dance and dance music: Sámi Dance and Dance Music: Embodied, Affective and Transcultural Agency.
Doors open at 8 PM. The programme begins at 9 PM.

The evening is organised by the Global Music Centre and University of Oulu’s Giellagas Institute in collaboration.
